This improvised photo was the only semi-decent shot I took of the Total Lunar Eclipse on September 27, 2015.
I captured this image before starting to rationalize an appropriate exposure method, then I spend some time trying, unsuccessfully, to figure out how to set up the camera for total moon eclipse vs full moon. So I ended up ruining most of my shots during the total eclipse period.
I shot this picture while an airplane was cruising the sky the moment the Blood Moon happened, that is the white line with tiny red dots on the upper left corner. Someone smart looking for challenges could figure out the flight number and trajectory using the photo data.
Pretty lucky if you ask me!
Taken with with my Nikon D610 + Nikon 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-G.
ISO 800, 200mm, 0 ev, f/8, 4.0s
